it sounds too fake. sure it\'s bright and sure it\'s loud, but it sounds dead. when you play a cane reed there\'s always that resonance, that whole sound along with the special attributes of each individual reed (bright, mellow, etc). The fiberreeds are ok if you don\'t have any good cane reeds. they are consistent, bright and loud, but have no life. also, when i got them, the reed felt like styrofoam and little bits that felt like sand were on the reed. I bought 2 reeds and both were like this. I was extremely disappointed with how they turned out, and will stick to my brancher reeds (highly, highly recommended)

As a performing musician who tends to be very picky, I have found great satisfaction in playing on Harry Hartmann Carbon Fiberreeds. This is one amazing reed. In searching out the optimum reed for my taste I wanted a reed that would be free blowing with no back pressure resistance, a reed that produced clarity of sound and quality of tone throughout the whole register in all octaves, A reed that consistently produces that level of clarity and tone quality at all volume levels from ppp to fff. A reed that responds to articulation attack, growl, note bending and slap tonguing techniques with precision and not ware out over time. To my overwhelming satisfaction the Harry Hartmann Carbon Fiberreed is the best reed available to meet the demanding criteria I just described. I have read in various reviews on the internet how some people have found synthetic reed to have a buzz sound to them. My experience is that when using the wrong reed strength, mostly too soft, you do tend to get a buzz sound, but matched up with the right reed strength you will get a consistent sound quality and performance level on every Fiberreed you purchase that is unmatched by cane reeds. I found only this model in my shop in Trieste. It was a good surprise, it is a very good reed, it play easily and the sound is clear and bright. (A little bit better than Fibracell). I hope to try soon the \"original\" and \"natural\" type, for the tenor sax, and this model (carbon) for the clarinet. My shop hasn\'t them yet...
